Make A Wish! A Brief History Of Birthday Rituals is a 40-page nonfiction picturebook on the curious origins and evolution of birthday rituals. This project investigates the "why" behind the traditions we often take for granted, like blowing out candles, eating cakes, and celebrating with a birthday song. It traces the journey of these celebrations from ancient history to modern day, exploring how different cultures hold birthday rituals.
This illustration series was recognized by the 23rd 3x3 Illustration Annual under the category of Honorable Mentions.
